Be Excited for Mondays!

Yes it’s Monday. Which means most of you are looking at starting a long 5-day trek which seems like it will never end. People at work and school or in your family have made decisions over the weekend which will make this week harder than the last.

You didn’t do anything to deserve this. You just wanted to have a nice week after a beautiful weekend with gorgeous weather.

Sound familiar? We all find those days where we feel unappreciated or unnecessarily burdened. There is hope though. It is up to you to look at everything you have to do and see what about it there gets you excited? Maybe one of your friends is coming back from Spring Break today and you can catch up with them.

Maybe your Tax refund check will come this week and you’ll finally have that nice sum of money to either pay off that debt or plan for your vacation this summer.

Good things are coming if you can get yourself to see beyond the minutiae and difficulty that you’re facing and focus on what you’re allowed to do this week. That new idea you came up with this weekend you can finally have time to implement.

You see the way out of your current situation but are afraid people will laugh at you or that it’s impossible. The only thing that is impossible is improving your surroundings if you’re not willing to step out and do something about it.

Now some of you are saying “But I can’t afford to change my job right now.” And please understand very very VERY rarely do I believe that changing your job purely because you are unsatisfied is the right answer. If you see a better job that helps you stand out and use your talents more than absolutely go for it.

Aside from work, you can find other parts of your life to look forward to that help you not focus on the parts of your life that are troubling.

Get excited about what is good in your life now and find reasonable things that you can change. Don’t be afraid to be different. Be afraid of finding yourself in the same situation next Monday and have done nothing different in your mind to change how you feel today.
